India 's tribal population comprises about eight percent of the nation's total population that is 68 million. From the exotic northeast, to the states of Orissa and Madhya Pradesh, the tribal people of India still follow their ancient traditions and rituals. Each of the tribal peoples in India has a legacy of traditions and cultures, deeply rooted in tradition and superstition. The northeastern region of India includes the states of Assam , Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Nagaland, Meghalaya and Mizoram. These states are home to numerous number of tribes,which are known for their distinctive culture, ancient language, hand woven dress and handicrafts.
