The Snow and Rhododendron Trek

Deoria Tal (Also spelled as Devaria' or 'Deoriya) is a lake located about 3 Kms on an uphill trek from the villages of Mastura and Sari, on the Ukhimath-Chopta road in Uttarakhand. At an altitude of about 2387 meters, it has heavily wooded, lush green surroundings with snow covered mountains (Chaukhamba is one of them) in the backdrop. The legend is that the Devas bathed in this lake hence the name, the lake is also sometimes believed to be the "Indra Sarovar" referred to in the Puranas by wandering. Chopta is getting popular as a tourist destination since last few years. Situated in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand state, Chopta is also known as mini Switzerland. Chopta is situated at an elevation of 2,600mts above sea level amidst dense forest. Enchanting views of the Himalayas is visible from Chopta. Chopta is the initiation point of the trek to famous Tungnath Mandir. The region is rich in varied flora and fauna. Rhododendron and deodar trees are found in abundant here. An epitome of sanctity is Tungnath temple at the height of 3680 meters atop the Chandranath Parvat. One among the Panch Kedars, Tungnath temple houses some of the most captivating vistas in the entire Himalayan region. The summit of Tungnath is the source of awesome waterfalls, which gives a rejuvenating vigor to the beholder. On this trek, you will traverse this great Himalayan range and appreciate the sheer geographic diversity � from the verdant, forested valleys and the flowered meadows (thatch) carpeted with wildflowers. Combine this with an interest in the variety of birds, wildlife, forest and wildflowers and the opportunity to view the many snow-capped peaks and you have all the ingredients for a highly rewarding trekking holiday even for the most laid back person.

Itinerary Details

Day 01: Arrive Delhi & transfer to Camp Wild.
Day 02: Full day for adventure activities in Aravali Valley.
Day 03: Full day Delhi city tour & departure from Delhi by O/N train (2205-DDN NZM AC EXP BY 23:55) to Haridwar
Day 4: Arrive Haridwar in the morning & drive to Syal saur. (O/N in TRH)
Day 5: Drive to Sari Village via Ukhimath and Trek to Deoriatal (2387m) 3 kms (O/N in Tents)
Day 6: Trek back to Ukhimath & drive to Chopta 30kms (O/N in Tents/ TRH)
Day 7: Day Trek to Tungnath Temple 4kms (3680 mtrs). (O/N in Tents/ TRH)

Day 8: Drive to Shivpuri to the rafting camp. (O/N at the beach Camp)
Half day of exhilarating adventure on the river. Post lunch, guided hikes on flora & fauna in the nearby forest, beach volley ball. In the evening transfer to Haridwar railway station to board overnight train for Delhi.
Day 9: Reach Delhi early morning at 0500hrs
